First elected as 5th Ward Alderman in 2009, Cesar is an architect who owns his own practice, employing ten people. He volunteers his time to the City of Homes Organization (CoHo) and serves as Berwyn’s representative to the West Cook Housing Collaborative, which works with neighboring communities to improve the local housing market.
As alderman, Cesar has been extremely productive. By introducing the “Kaboom” grant program to Berwyn, he enabled the construction of three new playgrounds, including Brocato Park, at no cost to taxpayers. Cesar coordinated a city-wide beautification program in partnership with Lowes Home Improvement; this resulted in the landscaping of street corners throughout the entire city of Berwyn. And he brought in “Rebuilding Together Chicago”, a program that resulted in the renovation for several homes for senior citizens and low-income residents across Berwyn, at no cost to either homeowners or the city.
Cesar and his wife Amy have two children; they like visiting water parks and enjoying Berwyn’s restaurants and festivals together. Cesar is proud to have been involved in the Lovero administration from the beginning and is proud to continue his energetic work improving the 5th Ward and the City of Berwyn.
